Preparing to Work in Adult social Care – Level 1

This award is a strong stepping stone towards qualifications required within this sector and will allow you to move into an entry level role in the adult social care world.

COURSE OBJECTS AND SUBJECTS COVERED

The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of the principles of personal well-being, mental well-being and healthy eating.

There are three outcomes to this unit. The learner will:

  • An introduction to different adult care services
  • Preparing to work with vulnerable adults.
  • Understanding the values and principles of adult social care
  • Awareness of the skills and attitudes required for adult social care
  • The importance of communication in the adult social care sector
  • The roles and responsibilities of the adult social care worker

Are you eligible?

  • Aged 19+
  • Unemployed and currently on benefits
  • Not already completed a previous employability qualification
  • PLUS—Have access to a laptop/tablet with Wi-Fi access
  • Please note certain geographic restrictions may apply

*Job interviews will be held at the Athena Care Home in Peterborough on completion of the award

This is an online course, learners must have access to the internet and computer/tablet.

This course will last for 1 week. The course will start at 9:30 with a group training session, before learners being assigned work based on group session and partaking in a 121 call with the tutor
