Role Profile
The administration assistants interact with colleagues, supervisors, senior managers, clients, customers, contractors, suppliers, service users, and government agencies. Within their organisation they may be asked to work with or act as a point of contact for other departments and colleagues within the organisation such as IT departments, finance and human resources. They must be able to take and respond to feedback from their supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organisation. Assistant administrators are flexible responding to organisational priorities and changing needs. They may have access to sensitive information respecting organisational and personal information.
Course Content
During their apprenticeship, the individual will gain the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for their chosen role and industry. Below are examples of the subject areas to aid them in this effort:
- Use software packages to collate, input and extract data and information in line with organisational requirements. For example updating office databases, stakeholder records or notes, finance records, CRM systems or sending mailshots.
- Support internal or external events or meetings, in person or on line, following organisational policies and procedures.
- Identify issues and escalate problems to others when beyond remit.
- Plan and review workload with supervisor to ensure best use of time to complete allocated tasks to deadlines.
Apprenticeship Assessment
Assessment organisations must set apprenticeship assessments. Assessment organisations should consider how technology and digital tools can support innovation and efficiency.
Assessment organisations must design apprenticeship assessments to include a portfolio.
Any additional assessment(s) must be selected from the following list of methods to ensure the assessment outcomes are met in full:
- Interview
- Presentation
- Question and answer
- Project
- Simulation
Apprentices may be assessed at any appropriate point during their apprenticeship programme.
Assessments may be designed to allow a centre or training provider to mark assessments. The assessment organisation is responsible for ensuring all assessments are sufficiently reliable and valid, and for the accuracy of any centre or training provider marking.
