Due to growth, Steadfast Training Ltd, a successful Ofsted Grade 2 provider and member of the Chartered Institution of Further Education, is currently recruiting for a Employability & Skills Tutor to join our team in the Cambridgeshire / East of England / Midlands area.

Overall Purpose of the Job:

  • To teach and assess ICT and Functional Skills (Maths and English), as well as Employability provision and vocational courses in one or more of the following subject areas: retail, customer service, business administration, warehousing, hospitality, adult health & social care;
  • To support unemployed clients seeking employment and those wishing to progress in work;
  • To work on provision funded by the ESFA, the DWP, Combined Authorities and other funding bodies and to plan and deliver innovative teaching sessions to inspire and motivate learners;
  • To deliver basic and employability training across Eastern England and Central England;
  • Applicants should also be able to help customers with job search and application activities and actively help them secure employment;
  • To provide guidance and support to vocational tutors with embedding Functional Skills into their curriculum;
  • To plan and deliver innovative teaching sessions to inspire and motivate learners;
  • To provide additional learner support and pastoral care for learners with learning difficulties and those with mental and physical disabilities;
  • To provide administrative support with the scheduling of course provision and eligibility assessments of learners;
  • To complete required paperwork in full compliance with relevant funding regulations and in a timely manner.

Whilst COVID-19 lockdown restrictions remain in place, training delivery will be conducted remotely, using Steadfast Training’s remote delivery model, consisting of a mix of tutor-led ‘virtual classroom’ workshops (via Zoom and MS Teams), short online course tutorials and customer calls, providing 1-2-1 phone or digital support.

Therefore, applicants need to be proficient in ICT and be able to deliver and successfully complete the required training and further learning support remotely.

Qualifications/ Knowledge, Skills/ Abilities and Experience required to carry out the Role:

Qualifications/ Knowledge

  • Confident and experienced in lecturing the courses taught;
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed or appropriate Basic Skills Teaching Qualification – C&G, RSA, PTTL or TEFL);
  • Significant relevant experience in the welfare to work and further education sector considered equally valuable;

Skills/ Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships remotely;
  • Time management and organisational skills;
  • Flexible approach, including out-of-hours delivery;
  • Strong personal organisational skills and willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing demands;
  • Personal integrity and a proven team player.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Further Education, Welfare to Work and the work-based learning sector;
  • Successful applicants should have experience in delivering Functional Skills (Numeracy, Literacy) and ICT from Entry Level 1 to Level 2;
  • Ideal applicants will also be qualified to deliver employability and vocational courses in one or more subjects, such as retail, customer service, business administration, warehousing, hospitality, adult care etc;
  • The job holder will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS (formerly known as CRB check).
  • Some reasonable business travel will be expected from Applicants

As a Clinical Assessor you will support apprenticeship learners who are studying up to Level 5 in Healthcare. You will be required to travel to visit learners in their workplaces in Essex and surrounding areas, a full driving license is essential.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience required to carry out the role;

  • Hold Assessors Qualification- D32,D33, A1 or TAQA.
  • Hold a recognised Teaching Qualification – PTLLS or above.
  • Hold Functional skills/ key skills qualifications in English, Maths or willing to work towards them.
  • Full registration with the NMC/HCPC (as appropriate) and continuous professional development maintained
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience within a clinical setting
  • Have a good understanding and the ability to deliver apprenticeship programmes.
  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding, and Prevent.
  • You will have a Full UK Driving Licence and own transport initially (Company Vehicle will be provided following probationary period)

Overall Purpose of the Job:

Conduct Internal Quality Assurance of the Health and Healthcare Care qualifications including Functional Skills

Main duties and responsibilities: Monitoring the quality of assessment practice on Clinical, Health & Social Care qualifications including Functional Skills qualifications against the requirements set by the awarding organisation’s. Monitoring targets for achievement to ensure timely and overall achievement of the qualifications. Contribute to the improvement of assessment practice to ensure that the organisation can meet the Ofsted requirements for the Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

Qualifications/ Knowledge, Skills/ Abilities and Experience required to carry out the Role:

  • Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice, or equivalent V1 or D34 qualification.
  • Current working knowledge and experience of best practice in assessment/quality assurance.
  • Effective communication, organisation and planning skills.
  • A detailed understanding of the current Apprenticeship reforms
  • A good knowledge of Awarding Bodies
  • A good knowledge of safeguarding requirements and processes
  • An in-depth knowledge of Further Education and government funded training
  • Occupationally competent in Supporting Teaching & Learning
  • Excellent coaching skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Highly IT literate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to positively engage, motivate and influence others
  • Own transport and an up-to-date licence
  • High levels of personal motivation, energy and determination

Experience
