The business administrator is responsible for supporting and engaging with different parts of the organisation and interacting with internal or external customers. They are expected to demonstrate strong communication skills, a proactive approach to skill development, and the ability to manage priorities and solve problems. The role also involves contributing to the efficiency of the organisation through support of functional areas and resolving issues as requested. Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills, and behaviours that can be applied in various sectors, and they work towards developing key skills and behaviours to support their progression towards management responsibilities.
During their apprenticeship, the individual will gain the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for their chosen role and industry. Below are examples of the subject areas to aid them in this effort:

- Apprentices may be required to undertake Level 2 in English & Maths
- A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL
