This qualification serves as an introduction to the knowledge and understanding required to work in a school or college environment. It is applicable to a wide range of roles that full or part-time support staff may undertake, including administrative, site support, technical, and volunteer roles, as well as roles involving direct work with children and young people in the learning environment.

Course Objectives:

  • Understanding school and colleges as organisations
  • Understanding children and young people’s development
  • Understand communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
  • Understanding children and young people’s health and safety
  • Safeguarding children and young people
  • Understanding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in work with children and young people

Are you eligible?

  • 19+
  • Unemployed and currently on benefits
  • Not already completed a previous employability qualification
  • As this course is delivered via Zoom, you would also need access to a laptop/tablet with Wi-Fi
