Adult Care Workers are essential frontline staff who provide care and support to adults with various needs. Their primary objective is to help these individuals achieve their personal goals, live safely and independently, and have control and choice over their lives. Working in care means making a positive impact in someone's life by assisting them in overcoming physical, practical, social, emotional, or intellectual challenges. Adult Care Workers should possess the right values and behaviours, develop relevant skills and competencies to deliver high-quality, compassionate care and support.
During their apprenticeship, the individual will gain the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for their chosen role and industry. Below are examples of the subject areas to aid them in this effort:
- Working professionally and seeking to develop their own professional development
- Championing health and wellbeing for the individuals they support and for work colleagues
- Supporting individuals to remain safe from harm (Safeguarding)
- Communicating clearly and responsibly
- Treating people with respect and dignity and honouring their human rights
- The main tasks and responsibilities according to their job role
This EPA has 2 assessment methods.
- Assessment method 1: Situational judgement test
- Assessment method 2: Professional Discussion

- Apprentices may be required to undertake Level 2 in English & Maths

Learners will be required to undertake the Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service process and provide the result prior to starting.
